Hey babies!
So, I get a lot of questions about the tools I use to create content, as well as how to go about starting a blog, so I thought I'd just dish all the deets right here! Social media is the most affordable and effective tool to market your content, increase visibility and lead traffic to your site.
Like any blogger or content curator, I'm sure you put in loads of hours to make your website/blog pop; however the catch 22 about social media is that people have access to quick content on the go, so they may never even get to your site. Don't be bummed though, the ultimate goal is to be heard and build, which is highly possible via social media. Social media is filled with eye catching content that you'll have to compete with, so I've decided to provide a few tools I use to create eye catching content. I use it for both aesthetic purposes and to market my brand.
1. Canva
The first tool I use is Canva. Canva is a dope graphics tool, that provides pre-made layouts. You don't have to take a graphics course to work this thing and you can do it all from your iPhone. You can design thumbnails for YouTube, website banners, event flyers and IG posts. You can even create PDF docs such as E-books, resumes and more. Here are a few of my designs from Canva.

2. Legend
So, I found this app because I wanted animated graphics. I am obsessed with Refinery 29, Buzz Feed and Brit & Co's fun, innovative and creative usage of Instastories (a new Instagram feature comparable to SnapChat) and noticed that they often use text animation. Well, I'm trying to build a brand that's just as legit, fun and tech-forward, so I searched for text animation apps and found Legend. Add some spunk to your stories. This is also a great app to use to create fun text transitions for YT videos. Below is a recent YouTube video I did using Legend for my transition texts.
3.Opinion
The Opinion app allows us to record straight from our phones if we want, or we have the option to record on our laptops and upload the files to the app. From there you can drag and drop your intro music, as well as cut out unwanted audio. It's sooooooo simple, even I can do it lol. My roommate and I started a podcast a while ago and recently purchased microphones, because living in NY, you're bound to have a lot of background noise and those two tools have allowed us to record quality audio.
4. Video Editor For YouTube (available in App Store)
I have yet to use this app; however as soon as I can finesse a way to get more space in my phone I most certainly will because I've read positive reviews thus far. I want to get into the YouTube space; however, I can't afford Adobe Premiere or all those other expensive apps, but I still want to produce quality content. I recently recorded on my iPhone and for those of you under estimating the quality of your phone's camera...stop it! No lie, the quality was better than the FujiFilm Finepix cam I've been shooting on. In the YT video I provided above, you'll see it's a bit fuzzy, but I'll provide a video I recorded on my phone so you can see the difference.
Just give it a shot and thank me later!
Also, I got some very useful tips from my fave Youtuber, Shameless Maya on ways you can record quality videos from your iPhone and her tips were super helpful. Check them out below!
A Faux Loc tutorial I recorded on my iPhone.
