The convenience and accessibility of smartphones can either be a hindrance or huge help. Throughout the day it's hard not to get off track when Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are all at your fingertips. A lot of times our phones bring counter productivity into our lives. Instead of finishing that blog post, editing that video, or wrapping up that essay; we’re scrolling, hash tagging and double tapping. Well, smartphones aren't all bad. Below I've listed 6 apps that can bring productivity into your life. Enjoy!
1. Happiness Planner- Anyone that knows me is well aware that while I'm all about getting down to business and working from 9 to 5, so you can werk from 5 to 9; I'm just as much as an advocate for self care. Happiness is a priority and that's where this planner gets it right. Like most planners; the app consist of a calendar and to-do list, but what makes it different is that it's designed to make sure you do things that make you happy. To start off it has you create a happiness roadmap. It then motivates you to start each day with a positive thought. The curators of this planner believe, “in order to achieve your goals and become your best self you need to understand who you are.” And I agree 1000%.
2. Boomerang
If you don't have gmail, do me a favor and get gmail. That alone will make your life ten times easier and way more productive. Once you get gmail download google drive to your phone. Ok, now that that's finished; Boomerang is a mail scheduling app. This app allows you to schedule emails. I've used this mostly during my job search or to pitch for clients. When I knew a busy week was ahead; I'd pick a free day and schedule emails for throughout the week. Yes, I'd spend most of my time at work BUT THE GAG IS I was applying to jobs at the same time. This app is lit.
3. Grammarly
I pride myself on being a great writer; however, everyone makes mistakes. Unfortunately there are always typos that I don't notice until a month after I wrote something and sometimes it helps to have a second eye before you hit publish. Well, Grammarly is that second eye. Spell check is petty as hell, it will watch you type "to," knowing you meant "too" and mind it's business because it's “spelt correctly.” However, Grammarly can detect contextual errors, so even if a word is spelt correctly, if it's used out of context, Grammarly will correct it. It's the perfect app for any writer; whether you're a blogger, copywriter, student, etc.
4. LastPass
LastPass is the perfect app for someone with multiple social media accounts, whether they be business or personal. LastPass creates a password vault and remembers your password even when you forget. This is a great app to use if you're in the social media management profession.
5. Evernote
Evernote allows you to take notes and jot down ideas so you never forget them. They're accessible anywhere and Evernote is easy to search. You can even search handwritten words. You can snap photos, leave voice memos, doodle, etc. and if you need to share an idea with someone, you can do that too! A lot of times we have a ton of ideas running through our heads and we forget them because we couldn't jot them down but Evernote allows you to ditch the pen and pad and take notes on the go!
6. Pocket
Pocket is perfect for those who need to stay up to date on current events. This app allows you to save articles to read later, from wherever! Even if you're in commute on the train with no wifi; the pocket app will give you access to articles you've saved.
Now that you know what apps to use, go! Put in some werk today boo!
