When Life Gives You Hammer Pants...

Yesterday was just one of them dayyyyyys!!! (Comment if you know the reference lol) Anywho, yesterday was just one of those days where I wanted to be really comfortable but I didn't want to look like a bum while running errands. As you may know, Afropunk, the annual afro-centric music festival held in Brooklyn, is right around the corner so I went to workout and headed to the nearest beauty supply to achieve this big blonde fro. In addition to working out, I spent my Sunday doing laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning and looking for a eccentric fit with my roomie for the upcoming festivities. I found the dress ans I got a weeks worth of groceries from Aldi's for $26, Yes Lawd!
To slay my Sunday I decided to pair my red, cold-shoulder Bebe top that my grandmother purchased for me with a pair of thrifted, olive, harem pants...comfyyyyy! I of course paired this fit with my fave go-to shoes for comfort, a pair of brown loafers I purchased at HnM for just $10.
What I love about this outfit was that I was not only cute and comfy, I felt confident. Like so many other young women, I struggle with back acne...yuck! Every other week my back is clear and then there are those random breakouts I just can't seem to remedy. I love the popular cold-shoulder trend but I don't feel as confident having my back out so I don't rock cold-shoulder tops the way I'd like to. What I love about this top in particular is that I get to rock the trend and still have back covered, that way I don't feel self conscious.
Thanks grandma for the top, I got so many compliments as I stomped the pavements of Harlem like a mad woman trying to find the perfect outfit for Afropunk.
