Hey babes! Sorry I've been M.I.A for a couple of weeks but for those who didn't know I just moved to New York--yep, yesterday I made my move to the big city to chase my dreams of working as a PR professional/writer in the media industry. Day one was ummm, productive-I got familiar with my neighborhood, went grocery shopping and almost stepped in human/dog shit.
Any who, a few weeks before packing up and venturing out on this journey I spent time roaming through Ponce City Market in Atlanta with my boo and fellow entrepreneur, Jenai. We met at the boutique I worked at in Atlanta and have been inseparable ever since. Amidst our conversations about annoying customers we would constantly talk to each other about our career goals. Whenever Jenai felt I was slipping with my blog, business cards, etc. she'd let me know I was and because we both aspire to be entrepreneurs, we could vent to each other about the obstacles we face during our journeys.
Back to the subject at hand; while Jenai and I are both on journeys towards becoming entrepreneurs we both have similar hair journeys. Jenai has been natural for some time now and I am currently recovering from my creamy crack addiction. For over six years my hair has been in a pixie-cut, I am scissor happy and every time I let my hair grow out all I can think about is how much I slay with short hair lol; with my pixie you can't tell me I'm not Angela Bassett.
However, last summer I fell in love with my curls and decided to maintain a TWA--Fast-forward to Thanksgiving, I relapsed and got a perm lol. After having coil withdrawals I cut my hair again and continued on my path toward curl city. TWA's are ALOT of work and sometimes getting those curls to slay whilst rocking a fly cut is too time consuming. So in the pic above I decided to rock a rope-twist and maneuver it into a bun.
To achieve this look I wet my hair and put the center of my hair up with eco-styler gel; I then laid my tapered sides down with eco-styler gel and let it sit while wearing a scarf on my sides; lastly I took a pack of kenekelon hair, braided it and pinned it to my pony-tail and wrapped it around the center to create a bun and added gold hair rings.
As for Jenai's poppin' fro, the products she uses to accomplish her signature look are posted in the picture below:

Enjoy the pics of our adventure and I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy hair hacks for TWA's and fros!
