With Valentine's Day rapidly approaching so many video ideas came to mind, mostly makeup tutorials and lookbooks (date outfit ideas).
While I personally can watch lookbook videos all day, my personal favorites being Notorias KIA, Raven Elyse and Fabulous Teeks; I decided to go another route for the frugal romantics.
Recently my boyfriend told me I was becoming a bit expensive lol, so we opted for a "cheap date" this past Thursday and had a blast.
Fortunately for me I was off and the sun decided to finally come out after being on a week long hiatus. I threw on a maxi dress I purchased at Forever 21 for $12.99 along with my tan peacoat from Charlotte Russe for $20, hopped in bae's car and headed to Little Five Points.
For those of you who aren't from Atlanta, Little Five is a artsy/cultural area with great thrift shops that sell unique apparel and food options from diverse cultures.
Bae and I decided to be basic and chowed down at Savage pizza where I tried "Not Your Father's Root Beer" for the first time, I'm hooked lol. We then went to Wax N' Facts ( a record store) where we fawned over old-school hip-hop records, discussed classics and our favorite artists/songs and even purchased a few gems.
Being the alchies that we are we left one restaraunt to drink, just to go to Corner Tavern and drink margaritas on the rooftop for just $10.
Afterwards we headed to Charis Books, where we stumbled across books focused on the feminist movement, LGBT community and Black Lives Matter movement.
Bae loves the kids, so he read a book with one of the children in the book store (my heart melted).
For those of you wondering what you should do with your bae for Valentine's Da( without hurting your pockets), record stores and book stores are certainly fun, free ways of getting to know one another and here's a tip from someone who recently graduated and learned to dine on a dime; nachos and pizza will always fill you up for the low-low.
I hope you enjoyed my first vlog and hope your V-day is filled with love, laughs and no cashiers yelling, "DECLINED" lol.
