It's Monday afternoon and I am currently rubbing coconut and castor oil on thine edges because they have been snatched by the likes of Taraji, Marley Dias, Gabrielle Union,Debbie Allen, Nina Shaw, Tracee Ellis Ross, Rihanna and do I even have to say it-BEYONCE.

After the back-and-forth regarding the "Oscars so White" controversy, the NAACP Image awards were a breath of fresh air. Bae, aka Michael B. Jordan who was snubbed of an Oscar nomination, (much like the cast of NWA, Will Smith and more) won big, taking home the award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture and Entertainer of the Year. Our baes from Straight Out of Compton also took home the award for Outstanding Motion Picture.

Now that we're done congratulating our Hollywood baes, let's get to the real tea.

Our favorite "aunties/mamas/sister friends in our heads;" Taraji P. Henson and Tracee Ellis Ross not only looked like two bottles of "Oh Hell Yes" but they topped the television category both winning three awards.

While accepting the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, auntie Taraji made this powerful statement, “We don’t need to ask for acceptance from anyone. We are enough, we’ve been enough and we always will be enough.” And that's how you drop the mic sis!

In addition to Auntie Tracee turning heads and snatching awards she was also honored by Essence magazine alongside entertainment legends; Debbie Allen and Nina Shaw. These ladies will be exceptional honorees for Essence's 9th annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. Debbie Allen is best known for directing and choreographing 80's cult film, FAME and Nina Shaw is a successful talent attorney known for securing solid deals for clients such as Jamie Foxx and Nick Cannon.

Gabrielle Union gets props on this post for not only looking absolutely stunning at the Image Awards but for throwing the best and most memorable, classiest shade at Stacey Trash, when asked about the clown's views on getting rid of niche media platforms such as BET, NAACP Image Awards and even Black History Month...

"Stacey Dash, who is she? Was she signed to Roc-a-fella?"- Gabby

In the words of Kim Fields mother, Chip fields, "You better throw shadow!"

-While we're on the subject can we take a second to applaud Kim Fields for the poise she displayed the last episode of RHOA.Yes maam, protect your legacy, protect your brand.

11-year-old bossy, brown beaute, Marley Davis has started a social movement; promoting books with strong, black female characters. The 11-year-old pioneer grew tired of reading books with characters that didn't reflect her and young girls like herself. She specifically stated she was tired of reading stories about "white boys and their dogs." *sips tea*

"When you are reading about a book, you focus on the main character, of course," Marley tells PEOPLE. "When you have something in common with them and connect with them, you remember the lessons they learned and then you can apply them to your life. So you can live the best life you can." (people.com)

Marley's goal is to collect 1,000 books with black female characters she aspires to be a lifestyle magazine editor when she grows up and hopes her book drive inspires bigger change.

Lastly let's talk about Rihanna dropping ANTI after having the Navy waiting for what felt like centuries and topping the BILLBOARD charts at number one. People doubted her because she dropped Kanye West as the albums Executive Producer and took the reigns herself, but she surpassed everyone's expectaions. Yesssss Girl Boss, you betta "work, work, work, work, work!"

And now the moment we've been waiting for...Beyonce just demanded that we all get in formation (information) or get left behind. Per usual the sneaky songstress dropped the video with no promo, single release, no castor oil to prepare us for the snatching of our edges-nothing. With lyrics like "I like my baby's hair with baby hair and afros, I like my negro with some Jackson Five nostrils," you can't help but love her for praising the very features the black community has been taught to hate...and Blue Ivy in the video, omg-adorable!

-Sidenote, how many of you will be taking your man to Red Lobster this Valentine's Day? Serious quesion.

Last night Beyonce had people in awe and people in rage over her Black Panther'esque Super Bowl performance. Police even boycotted the performance...I think it's safe to say she's upset some people AS SHE SHOULD. For those of you who are offended by this video, which is ultimately art and reflects our society; ask yourself why you're not just as upset about the innocent people of color being muredered everyday by the very police that are supposed to protect us.

Enough of that because this post isn't for y'all(referring to anyone offended by Beyonce's song, not in reference to race), this is for the carefree black girls who have been showing out and are lit af right now.

After reading this post I would like for you to go to your bathroom, grab some eco-styler gel, lay your baby hairs, post a selfie with the caption "I slay, okay #carefreeblackgirlsarelit" and feel free to tag me via instagram @showme_dmani .
