Black n' White:My New Obsession With Minimalism

After graduating college, I kind of found my self in a slump; no job, no money, livin' at my mama's house we'd argue every month...all'at lol.

Today, I woke up happy, feeling blessed and in high spirits and took a moment to reflect on the times that had me down and out. I got to thank God for all the simple things, for showing me how I could persevere even in my lowest and darkest moments.

As I strolled around downtown Decatur,I took photos of my self and sat in Starbucks to work on my blog and projects for my first PR contract since graduating college with Lavazza coffee and to think I initially interviewed to be a barista.

For those of you thinking, "What the hell does this have to do with anything?" I honestly don't know, I just feel like at this moment God put something in me, wanting share my testimony instead of giving you outfit deets, so I went with it-

Much like the time I interviewed with Lavazza, overhearing the managers discussing how they planned on marketing the coffee shop and that they needed help with visual aids. At that moment, God told me to know my worth, know what I had to offer and put myself out there and so I did.

Hopefully, this snippet of my journey can be of some inspiration to someone.

But for those of you who are thinking, "Girl, this is getting too deep for me, I just wanna know where you got your clothes from" lol, the outfit deets are listed below.

Hat: A D.I.Y. project involving a beanie, two gloces and hair scrunchies ;)

Shades: Dresslink.com $2

Glasses: Rag-o-rama $12

Coat: HnM $60(sumn)

Velvet top: thrifted

Velvet leggings: Marshalls $6

Shoes: Call It Spring $30

Clutch: D.I.Y. (tutorial coming soon ;) )

I've found myself infatuated with the minimalist trend and what's more minimal than black and white?

The weather in Georgia has been quite bi-polar (as expected), while I thought I'd be met with a bone cutting chill outside, I instead felt light breezes, warm winds and the perfect amount of sun to have a photoshoot.

So I grabbed my tripod and took advantage of the lighting...as you can see, grey shoes have been my thing lately. The color grey just goes perfectly with everything and adds a very simple yet chic flare to neutral palettes.
