Fountain Of Youth

Red cups once filled in benevolent amounts of liberation,
Now sprinkled amongst the green lawn.
Bare, brown, beautifully covered in skin
Glowing from the full moon whose presence came at dawn.
Trapped by three words,
Double, dog, dare.
Yet nothing was more freeing,
Than
Being.
Here.
Bare
I run, it was all a blur.
Blurred vision.
A canvas of nature,
Created by strokes of wind.
My scenery; starlit skies
Meshing with the trees,
Passing each scene caressed by a breeze.
The pinks of my feet
Swiftly sinking into the dewy grass,
As breathing grows heavier and minutes pass.
Giggles in the distance.
I am finally met by a puddle of endless blue,
With high waters, crashing into them
Creating ripples amongst my reflection.
A vision of me swelters
Then shrinks.
Taking no time to think,
I jump in.
Greeted by a shock evoking cool.
Commitments of tomorrow;
Work, worry, school…
Are out the window.
Eyes open like a window, enjoying my view
Trees in an ebony hue,
The moon creating silver glitters upon this endless blue…
I embarked on a journey to free,
Carrying no man-made “essentials”,
This moment, reminiscent of youth .
I‘ll relish in it now,
Tomorrow I can face my truth.
